MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in 'Let's Skate!'

MAC paint pots. Who has one? Now, who has a maybelline colour tattoo? More hands up that time I guess! Considering you can buy three for the price of one paint pot surprised I am not, however that doesn't mean you should not give these little beauties a side eye..

Let's Skate! is a beautiful baby pink shade infused with gold microglitter (think less discoball and more chic shimmer) which acts as a suberb base for eyeshadows as it will turn any shadow into a party perfect shimmer shade and keep it on throughout the day for perfect peepers. On it own it is a rather light sheer wash of colour that is more shimmer than glitter that gives a more sophisticated shine when caught by natural or artifcial light. Longevity is brilliant, my eyeshadow stays put all day when I wear this beauty. They are soft, but not too soft, meaning you can blend them easily but one catch of the eye won't spread the creamy texture up your face.

Absolutely brilliant one would say!

My opinion? Buy one.. but buy one in a shade you can use day in, day out something adaptable and something you love. The colours in the paintpot range surpass those you can find in similar high street dupe ranges meaning not only is there something for everyone, but more than likely something that you'll like.

MAC Pro Palette Refil Pans - Cranberry, Brule and Woodwinked

Today I'm going to write about my guilty pleasure - my MAC Pro Palette. Guilty because of the price - £10 for an eyeshadow is expensive. Ridiculously so. I could buy food or some other unexciting and uninspiring item (bus fare). But that doesn't mean that every time I go to use it I don't get a little flutter, a little buzz. It is something to work towards, something I really do feel is a treat (when I get a new pan). So when bonus day came around... well....

Readers, meet Woodwinked. It is described as a warm antique gold, and I'd agree. In the pan it does look very dark but once on the eye it looks lovely. And bronze. Against blue eyes? Utterly fantastic. It is very wearable, something suitable for day but with a cat eye and some false lashes, just as appropriate for night.

MAC eyeshadows apply like a dream- easily blendable, highly pigmented and is effortless (this is probably why the small fortune I spend is easier to swallow). This is the third eyeshadow in my collection, the others being Brule and the infamous Cranberry.

I've included swatches of all my shadows (dry with no primer) as they do compliment each other. Brule is a great shade for using on the brow bone. The assistant in MAC helped me pick this out as I didn't want a shimmery base. Cranberry needs no introduction, a berry pink which looks great for a crease shade or dramatic as a main part of a smokey eye.

So why go for a palette? It is £12 for a single potted shadow, whereas £10 for a refil and because I knew I would be buying more than one, it seemed logical to get the palette for £6.50 Plus I'm more likely to use them!

My Holy Grail Product #1 HD BROWS

Everybody has a selection of products that once they come into your life you feel you'd be lost without... this will be a series of posts of my 'Holy Grail' products.. some you may agree with, others you may not! However it may help you decide if they are worth trying out! So.. onto the review......

HD Browns Palette in 'Foxy'
I recieved this in the August Glossybox.. and I don't think there has been a day since that I haven't used it. At first I was using the darker brown colour but then I realised that it was too dark and I was sporting the scouse brown on a daily basis... fail.
Even with just a bit of mascara, sorting your brows out really does make a difference to the face I've found, and it is a more natural look than using eyebrow pencil.

Th shadows are highly pigmented (apart from the pale one which in my opinion is more useless than a jelly ruler) and apply neatly. They do not smudge easily (however be careful when taking jumpers/hoodies off as I did this and ended up with the biggest smear of eye make up.. looked like Harry Potter gone wrong) and do last all day. I would apply eyebrows after foundation but before shadow so you can neaten edges if need be.

Granted, you don't have to use this exact palette, an eyeshadow in your natural hair colour would suffice.. but with the inclusion of the brush that is not useless and the highlighter shadow.. I do think that now I would never look back! Plus it is way easier than having to hunt for an alternative.

17 Wild Curls Mascara

Hi everyone! Today I present another high street mascara review: 17 Wild Curls. Its supposed to give 'bold, beautiful eyes' with 'intense curl'. And last 10 hours.
The brush provides easy application and the effect on the eyelash is lengthening and curly.. as you can see it doesn't apply clumpy either! Towards the end of the night it DOES go flaky and there can be some smudging if you rub your eyes (I wear contacts so thats probably why I rub my eyes so much!) but the overall effect given makes it worth while in my opinion! 8/10!


You can buy 17 Wild Curls mascara at Boots for £6.29 but on the Boots website it is only £2!! Bargain!
