MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in 'Let's Skate!'

MAC paint pots. Who has one? Now, who has a maybelline colour tattoo? More hands up that time I guess! Considering you can buy three for the price of one paint pot surprised I am not, however that doesn't mean you should not give these little beauties a side eye..

Let's Skate! is a beautiful baby pink shade infused with gold microglitter (think less discoball and more chic shimmer) which acts as a suberb base for eyeshadows as it will turn any shadow into a party perfect shimmer shade and keep it on throughout the day for perfect peepers. On it own it is a rather light sheer wash of colour that is more shimmer than glitter that gives a more sophisticated shine when caught by natural or artifcial light. Longevity is brilliant, my eyeshadow stays put all day when I wear this beauty. They are soft, but not too soft, meaning you can blend them easily but one catch of the eye won't spread the creamy texture up your face.

Absolutely brilliant one would say!

My opinion? Buy one.. but buy one in a shade you can use day in, day out something adaptable and something you love. The colours in the paintpot range surpass those you can find in similar high street dupe ranges meaning not only is there something for everyone, but more than likely something that you'll like.

MAC eyeshadow in 'Coppering'

Recently I went to New York, and whilst watching the bright lights of Times Square flash and amaze I saw it. A MAC store. And that can only mean one thing....

Presenting Coppering! A Veluxe Pearl Finish with a rich copper colouring. It applies like an absolute dream, blends amazingly and lasts forever. The colour is either hit or miss.. for my colouring, Coppering goes superbly and brings out the blue in my eyes but for others it could leave you washed out. Wear with lashings of mascara - not necessarily black. A slick of dark grey or (if you are really daring) dark green eyeliner looks really fab with this. 

Got Cranberry? Great paired with it as a transitional colour on the lid, my favourite way to wear this personally.

So have a look for this colour, I personally took a risk on it. I went in, swatched like a maniac and hoped for the best as I'd never read anything about it online.  And now its love.

Collection Eyeshadow Pencil in Vintage Blush

Eyeshadows pencils. The spawn from the Clinique Chubby sticks, a year ago these were an obscure and uncommon product. Now every brand near enough have thrown an offering into the arena. This is COLLECTIONS offering, the Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencil in Vintage Blush, a pale metallic pink. The colour itself is more neutral than pinky, making it a great base colour and perfect for brightening the eye area. To apply, draw it on. I like to blend it out at the edges with my finger and into the crease a little. For a pencil it is very soft and creamy, don't leave it too near a heat source or you'll end up with a hot mess when you remove the lid. Not exactly what you want now is it?
As a base I find it works really well, not only is the colour perfect (not too strong to overpower whatever you put on the top) but as it lasts a fair while it means less smudgy smudgy and more smouldering eye makeup look. It is a great product to have in your stash and with its pricepoint it would be stupid not to. Only £2.50 here (Normal Price £3.19).

MAC Pro Palette Refil Pans - Cranberry, Brule and Woodwinked

Today I'm going to write about my guilty pleasure - my MAC Pro Palette. Guilty because of the price - £10 for an eyeshadow is expensive. Ridiculously so. I could buy food or some other unexciting and uninspiring item (bus fare). But that doesn't mean that every time I go to use it I don't get a little flutter, a little buzz. It is something to work towards, something I really do feel is a treat (when I get a new pan). So when bonus day came around... well....

Readers, meet Woodwinked. It is described as a warm antique gold, and I'd agree. In the pan it does look very dark but once on the eye it looks lovely. And bronze. Against blue eyes? Utterly fantastic. It is very wearable, something suitable for day but with a cat eye and some false lashes, just as appropriate for night.

MAC eyeshadows apply like a dream- easily blendable, highly pigmented and is effortless (this is probably why the small fortune I spend is easier to swallow). This is the third eyeshadow in my collection, the others being Brule and the infamous Cranberry.

I've included swatches of all my shadows (dry with no primer) as they do compliment each other. Brule is a great shade for using on the brow bone. The assistant in MAC helped me pick this out as I didn't want a shimmery base. Cranberry needs no introduction, a berry pink which looks great for a crease shade or dramatic as a main part of a smokey eye.

So why go for a palette? It is £12 for a single potted shadow, whereas £10 for a refil and because I knew I would be buying more than one, it seemed logical to get the palette for £6.50 Plus I'm more likely to use them!
